Our tasks include the planning, development, support and operation of police IT applications as well as IT security, the support of data centers, the management of suppliers and the 24-hour IT service of the IT control center for all employees of the NRW police.
More than 100 police-specific IT solutions are managed centrally at LZPD NRW. Software architects, developers and analysts work on the further development of this complex application landscape. The large-scale IT projects for planning and developing new solutions and numerous state projects and working groups are supported by LZPD NRW employees.
We procure the necessary hardware and software, then test and operate it for its suitability in test and pilot phases in the police infrastructure.
With a 24-hour support service, we are also responsible for the domain structure of the NRW police. This includes over 36,000 clients and 1,200 servers throughout the state, which have to be maintained and regularly updated in cooperation with the district police authorities.
