Mechatronics and mechanics specialists work for us in many different areas. For example, they repair patrol cars, motorcycles and helicopters. We also operate our own weapons workshops, which ensure that the weapons of the NRW police are in perfect technical condition. The employees of the weapons workshop travel to the police authorities, have the weapons presented there and, if necessary, repair them. They also convert decommissioned weapons into training weapons.
The clothing technology engineers ensure that the planned service and protective clothing for police officers meets the highest standards and that the quality required by manufacturers is maintained. In addition to tests in our own laboratory, this also includes, for example, fire tests on items of clothing for which we cooperate with institutes. The employees of the Police Clothing Center NRW (PBC NRW) equip all police officers in the state of NRW with both official clothing and personal equipment such as handcuffs, flashlights and protective vests. The aim is to provide every police officer with practical, comfortable and well-fitting clothing for their everyday work and to ensure the greatest possible protection.
