The LZPD NRW is known for developing its own service vehicles. One of the vehicles is now going into the museum.
The Mercedes-Benz E320 T 4-Matic, which was first registered on 5.11.1999, is being retired. The vehicle was used by the special forces with various special modifications until 2007. It was taken out of service there due to gearbox damage, but was given a second chance and was refurbished by the trainees and converted into a service vehicle.
The decommissioning will take place in March 2021. The last trip will now be to the Polizeioldtimer Museum in Marburg.
However, the legend lives on at the LZPD NRW: as a 1:87 scale model, built by the interest group "IG Polizeimodellbau".
